In January 1992, the song was released as a single in the UK, reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart. The song was also a number–one hit in Finland, Ireland, and New Zealand. In Australia, it peaked at number two for eight weeks, behind Michael Jackson‘s “Black or White“. In France, the single charted at number two for six weeks, behind Céline Dion‘s “D‘eux“. In the Netherlands, the song spent two weeks at number two, behind Michael Jackson‘s “Black or White“.
