Silver Springs Chords
Tuning: E A D G B E (standard)
Silver Springs is a song by Fleetwood Mac, which was first released on their 1977 album Rumours. The song was written and sung by Stevie Nicks, and was the only song on the album not to feature the other members of the band. The song is a tragic ballad about the end of a relationship between Nicks and her then–boyfriend, bandmate Lindsey Buckingham.
The lyrics tell of Nicks’s sadness and regret at the dissolution of the relationship and her hope that they might be reunited in the future. Musically, the song is driven by a gentle acoustic guitar and a string arrangement, with a prominent drum pattern and keyboard accompaniment.
The song was not included on the original release of Rumours, due to time constraints, but was included on the CD version of the album. It was also released as a single in 1997 and reached number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has since become a fan favorite and has been covered by numerous other artists, including Taylor Swift, The Killers, and The Cranberries.
Silver Springs Guitar Chords
You could be my silver spring
Blue-green colors flashing
I would be your only dream
Your shining over ocean crashing
And do you say she’s pretty
And do you say that she loved you
Baby I don’t want to know
So I begin not to love you
Turn ’round, see me running
I say I loved you years ago
But tell myself you never loved me no
And did you say that she’s pretty
And do you say that she loved you
Baby I don’t want to know
Oh no
And can you tell me it was worth it
Really I don’t want to know
Time cast a spell on you
But you won’t forget me
I know I could have loved you
But you would not let me
Solo over
C, F, C,
C, F, C,
Am#5,
Am#5, C
Time cast a spell on you
But you won’t forget me
I know I could have loved you
But you would not let me
I’ll follow you down ’till the sound
Of my voice will haunt you (Was I just a fool?)
You’ll never get away from the sound
Of the woman who loves you (Was I just a fool?)
(Repeat last 4 lines, w/ “Give me just a chance” and “Never get away”)
You can be my silver spring
My blue-green colors flashing
